Empty and rinse containers… no lids please… labels are OK
Plastic
- Milk, water, juice and pop bottles – items with a narrow neck
- Detergent and fabric softener bottles
- Yogurt, dairy and margarine tubs
Glass
- Jars and bottles, any color
Aluminum and tin
- Beverage cans
- Food cans
Paper and Packaging
- Newspaper and advertising inserts
- Advertising mail and envelopes
- Magazines, catalogs and phone books
- Juice boxes and milk cartons
- Flattened cardboard
Scrap metal
- Limit 2 ft. x 2 ft., 35 pounds; no wood, plastic, or rubber attachments
These kinds of things go in the yard waste bin
- Yard trimmings, weeds and houseplants
- Tree branches and twigs
- Kitchen food scraps and paper
- Food preparation scraps and leftovers
- Meat, fish, poultry and dairy scraps
- Greasy pizza delivery boxes
- Uncoated paper plates, cups, napkins, food wrap and bags
These kinds of things go in the garbage
- Plastic eating utensils and take-out containers
- Styrofoam and packing peanuts
- Plastic-coated paper and cardboard
- Mirrors, window glass, ceramics, dishes and (non-mercury-containing) light bulbs
- Aluminum foil wrap and trays
- Empty aerosol spray cans
- Latex paint cans (harden or solidify paint first)
- Sharp or greasy metal
- Small appliances
- Alkaline batteries
