Aluminum and tin

  • Beverage cans
  • Food cans

Paper and Packaging

  • Newspaper and advertising inserts
  • Advertising mail and envelopes
  • Magazines, catalogs and phone books
  • Juice boxes and milk cartons
  • Flattened cardboard

Scrap metal

  • Limit 2 ft. x 2 ft., 35 pounds; no wood, plastic, or rubber attachments

  • Yard trimmings, weeds and houseplants
  • Tree branches and twigs
  • Kitchen food scraps and paper
  • Food preparation scraps and leftovers

  • Plastic eating utensils and take-out containers
  • Styrofoam and packing peanuts
  • Plastic-coated paper and cardboard
  • Mirrors, window glass, ceramics, dishes and (non-mercury-containing) light bulbs

  • Empty aerosol spray cans
  • Latex paint cans (harden or solidify paint first)
  • Sharp or greasy metal
  • Small appliances
  • Alkaline batteries
